The REPAIR Lectures are back - Join us on 18 & 20 February for upcoming talks!
The Repair Lectures are back in 2026 with two very exciting instalments:
On 18 February, Prof. Jovan Scott Lewis will give a lecture on “Reparative Grammar“ in which he will explore the limits of contemporary reparations grammar – through which Black life becomes legible only through suffering – and advocates for a shift from to repair toward repair to, a grammatical and political reorientation that moves from restitution to composition and from recognition to relation.
Time & place: 18 February, 10am CET in room C5.00 at the Anthropology Department of UvA REC (B/C building, 5th floor) & online.
