Join us for a film screening & panel on nuclear reparations: Amsterdam, 13 April

At a moment when a global nuclear arms race is accelerating, treaties have collapsed, and the threat of the use of nuclear weapons feels closer than it has in decades, First We Bombed New Mexico reminds us what is at stake for communities around the world. This award-winning documentary follows the New Mexico "Downwinders" — Latino and Native American communities who have lived with the consequences of the world's first nuclear weapons test since 1945 — and their extraordinary fight for recognition, reparation, and justice. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, audience Q and A, and reception (snacks and drinks) connecting the story of the New Mexico Downwinders to contemporary global nuclear threats, and the global movement for nuclear abolition.
